Low Pressure

The SumiSoaker is quite simply the best solution we’ve ever seen for low water pressure irrigation.

Once connected to your standard garden hose, the tap does not need to be opened all the way. In fact, the SumiSoaker requires so little pressure, in most cases the tap should hardly be open at all.

Great Coverage

Water pressure and flow rate varies enormously from one home to another and of course this impacts coverage of any irrigation product. With the SumiSoaker, each customer will quickly identify the optimum conditions on their own property and work out the best length of hose to use and the best layout for the shape of their garden to complete their irrigation most efficiently.

Real World Tests

  • We’ve found that in average low pressure conditions at a standard length of 15 metres, the SumiSoaker will produce a spray 4-5 metres wide along the whole length, easily covering 60-75 sqm at once.
  • Gravity helps! If the hose is running slightly downhill, a spray 5 metres wide on a length of 25 metres is easily achieved, covering 125 sqm. Much greater coverage is possible depending on the individual slope of the property.
  • A 50m length on a short connection in my garden running slightly uphill produced a spray between 3.4 and 4m in width. The lowest width is where the slope crests. This was right off my garden tap (not great pressure). So that's 170 to 200 sqm of coverage. Much better than a sprinkler!
  • The smallest amount of wind is also helpful as it this disperses the ultra-fine spray even further.
  • Longer lengths of hose and greater coverage are possible with increased pressure and flow rate.

Low Impact Spray

Sprayed droplets are mild mist-like and soft to plants and soil. As small droplet water does not harden soil surface, the ventilation in the soil is kept good condition and water penetrates into soil so slowly that water is absorbed by plants effectively. The result is that plants are healthy and water is saved.

Uniform Distribution

The SumiSoaker delivers a consistent flow and equal volume of water along the whole length which provides a uniform distribution of water along the irrigation area.

Output is 0.5 litres of water per metre per minute at just 0.8 bar, that's the equivalent of 6.5mm of rainfall per hour.

Easy Storage

The SumiSoaker rolls up into a very small package and will occupy hardly any space in your shed or garage. It will sit comfortably on a shelf all winter, ready for use in the Spring or Summer. If you purchase the optional SumiSoaker Reel then the SumiSoaker can simply wind up onto the reel which is compact, self-standing and easy to store anywhere.

Most sprinklers have little flexibility for varying the coverage but the SumiSoaker fits your garden. It comes with a stopper that simply fits onto the hose like a belt buckle.

The Stopper can be positioned anywhere along the length providing the means for the SumiSoaker to be set quickly and easily to the desired length and changed whenever you need to.

Purchase it with the optional SumiSoaker Reel and it is even easier to deploy. Just place the reel down and pull out as much hose as you need. When finished, all you need to do is disconnect your hosepipe, drain the water from the SumiSoaker (this is automatically done when you roll it onto the reel) and put away.

Standing a traditional sprinkler on uneven ground can be very difficult as most models will fall over and, even if they do stay upright, they will not water evenly.
